Purple Pitcher Plant
Short and round pitcher, with pitchers turns red under strong sun.
A compact grower, the plant is fully mature at 2 years old. Southern Pitcher Plant is a native perennial carnivorous wildflower found in moist boggy soils around savannas and bogs from North Carolina to Georgia. This plant is tolerant of heat but sensitive to drought.

USES
- Native Americans used the roots as a diuretic, a treatment for childbirth-related symptoms, and an anti-diabetic . The pitcherplant was also used to prevent smallpox, and recent studies have confirmed that extracts from this plant can inhibit pox viruses from reproducing.
